General Questions

What areas does Locksmith KeyIn serve?

Locksmith KeyIn serves the entire Greater Las Vegas metropolitan area including the city of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Spring Valley, Enterprise, Paradise, Whitney, Winchester, and Boulder City. We cover all ZIP codes in Clark County. For locations outside Clark County, call us and we will give you an honest response time estimate.

Is Locksmith KeyIn available 24 hours a day?

Yes. Locksmith KeyIn operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — including all holidays and weekends. Our emergency dispatch line is always answered live by a real person, never an automated system or voicemail.

Are your locksmiths licensed in Nevada?

Every Locksmith KeyIn technician holds a valid Nevada state locksmith license, carries full general liability insurance, and has completed a thorough background check before joining our team. You can request to see credentials at the door — our technicians always carry documentation.

How long has Locksmith KeyIn been in business?

Locksmith KeyIn has been serving Las Vegas and surrounding communities since 2012 — over 12 years of local locksmith service. We are a locally owned business, not a national franchise or call center.

Do you charge extra for nights, weekends, or holidays?

Emergency after-hours calls may carry a slightly higher service fee than standard daytime service. We are always transparent about this — our dispatcher will quote the exact price before the technician is dispatched. There are never any hidden charges or fees added after the job is completed.

Home & Residential

How much does a home lockout service cost in Las Vegas?

A standard home lockout in Las Vegas typically starts at $65 to $150 depending on the lock type and time of day. We always provide the exact price over the phone before dispatching a technician. The price we quote is the price you pay — no add-ons at the door.

Should I rekey or replace my locks when I buy a new home?

Rekeying is almost always the better choice for new homeowners. It costs significantly less than replacing the full lock hardware and provides the same level of security by changing the internal pins so that all previous keys no longer operate the lock. We recommend rekeying all exterior locks within the first day of moving into any Las Vegas home.

Can you install a smart lock at my Las Vegas home?

Yes. We install and fully configure smart locks from all major brands including Schlage Encode, Kwikset Halo, Yale, and August. We connect the lock to your WiFi network, set up your user codes, and demonstrate full operation before we leave. Same-day smart lock installation is available.

How long does it take to rekey a house?

Rekeying a standard Las Vegas home with 3 to 5 exterior locks takes approximately 45 to 75 minutes. We arrive with pin kits for all major lock brands so there is no waiting for parts. The job is typically completed in a single visit.

What lock brands do you recommend for Las Vegas homes?

For most Las Vegas residential applications, we recommend Schlage B60N Grade 1 deadbolts as the best combination of security and value. For higher security, Medeco Maxum offers pick and drill resistance with key control. For convenience, Schlage Encode or Kwikset Halo smart locks are excellent choices for main entry doors.

Automotive

How much does car lockout service cost in Las Vegas?

Car lockout service in Las Vegas starts at $75 to $125 for standard passenger vehicles. Luxury vehicles, trucks, and vehicles with complex electronic door systems may cost slightly more. We quote the exact price before we begin — no surprise charges.

Can you make a car key without the original?

Yes. Our automotive locksmiths can create a replacement key without the original for most domestic and foreign vehicles using your vehicle identification number and professional on-board key-cutting equipment. This includes transponder chip keys, laser-cut keys, and proximity fobs.

How long does it take to get a replacement car key made on-site?

A standard replacement car key typically takes 20 to 40 minutes to cut and program on-site. This depends on the vehicle make, model, and key type. Proximity keys and key fobs for luxury vehicles may take slightly longer. We give you a time estimate when you call.

Do you program key fobs for all car brands?

We program key fobs for most major brands including Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, and Jeep. Some newer high-security European models may require dealer-only programming — we will tell you upfront if that is the case before any charges apply.

Is opening a car the same way the dealer would do it?

No. Professional automotive locksmiths use specialized entry tools that are completely different from dealer methods. We use air wedge kits and long-reach tools designed to open vehicle doors without scratching paint, bending door frames, or damaging window seals. Dealers typically do not perform lockout services at all.

Commercial

What commercial locksmith services do you offer in Las Vegas?

Our commercial locksmith services include business lockouts, master key system design and installation, access control installation and service, high-security lock installation, panic bar and exit device installation, commercial rekeying, and security assessments for offices, retail stores, warehouses, medical facilities, and multi-tenant buildings throughout Las Vegas.

Can you set up a master key system for my Las Vegas business?

Yes. We design and install master key systems for businesses of all sizes. A proper master key system allows individual staff keys to only open their assigned areas while a master key opens all locks. We assess your floor plan and key hierarchy requirements on-site and provide a written quote at no charge before any work begins.

Do you install access control systems?

Yes. We install and service keypad entry systems, RFID card readers, key fob access systems, and biometric readers for Las Vegas commercial properties. We work with multiple brands and can integrate new systems with existing security infrastructure. We also provide ongoing maintenance and service contracts.

How quickly can you respond to a commercial lockout in Las Vegas?

Commercial lockouts are treated as priority emergency calls. We typically arrive at Las Vegas commercial locations within 15 to 30 minutes at any hour. We understand that being locked out of a business has direct financial consequences, and our mobile technicians are positioned throughout the valley to respond quickly.

Are you licensed for commercial work in Clark County?

Yes. Locksmith KeyIn holds a Nevada state locksmith license that covers both residential and commercial work. We carry appropriate liability insurance for commercial projects and comply with all Clark County commercial building codes and fire code requirements for exit devices and door hardware.
